About Ace
Katelyn “Ace” Brown is a graduate student intern therapist whose primary goal is to create a welcoming, empowering, and inclusive space for individuals navigating life’s many challenges. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Ace is passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and other marginalized populations through a culturally sensitive, affirming approach.
Ace has a particular passion for working with youth and young adults as they explore identity, self-discovery, and personal growth. However, they are committed to walking alongside anyone ready to begin their therapeutic journey, regardless of age or background.
Their therapeutic style is grounded in cultural humility and shaped by elements of feminist theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and a person-centered approach. Ace earned their Bachelor's degree in Psychology, graduating cum laude from the University of Florida, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Social Work at the University of North Florida. As the first woman in their family to earn a college degree, Ace brings a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding family dynamics, generational experiences, and higher education.
Outside the therapy room, Ace enjoys binge-watching favorite shows, movie marathons, and gaming on their Nintendo Switch. They especially cherish time with their clever Australian Shepherd, Alucard. Ace lives by the belief that there’s very little in life that can’t be made better with a soft-serve ice cream.
