    Not accepting new clients.

    Location: Jacksonville Office and Online

Avonlea provides a safe space for individuals to be their most authentic self. Her goal as a therapist is to help you gather the tools you need to overcome difficult hurdles, express uncomfortable emotions, and better understand yourself. She works closely with individuals overcoming depression, anxiety, and stress. She feels especially passionate about helping survivors of sexual assault or domestic violence, individuals with ADHD, and members or allies of the LGBTQ+ community. She values a holistic approach and integrates the evidence-based benefits of connection with nature, creativity, animals, music, and other forms of expression to aid in personal growth and healing.

Avonlea acquired a master’s degree in social work from the University of North Florida in 2021. Following this, she earned a graduate certificate in Animal Assisted Therapy. She is a registered clinical social work intern. Her approach includes CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), attachment-based therapy, experiential therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused interventions, art therapy, creative counseling, animal-assisted interventions, and more.

When she’s not working, Avonlea enjoys spending time connecting with the animals on her small farm. Her greatest joy is working with her certified therapy dog, Willow. She hopes to one day open an equine-assisted psychotherapy and therapeutic riding barn.
